Product Overview

Application Scenarios

Lifting eye nuts (DIN 582) are the internally threaded counterpart to the DIN 580 eye bolt — a drop-forged ring with a tapped body that screws onto an existing stud, threaded rod or bolt to create a rated lifting or tie-down point. They are used to lift motors, gearboxes, moulds, tanks and machine assemblies that already have a projecting stud, and to anchor slings, shackles and turnbuckles. The one-piece forging is stress-relieved so the ring will not open under load, and the flat body face seats against the workpiece to spread the pull. Stainless A2 / A4 versions suit damp, outdoor and washdown use.

Installation Notes

Run the eye nut fully down the stud until the body face seats flat and firm against the surface, with full thread engagement — at least one thread diameter of the stud standing proud inside the nut. The marked rated load applies to a straight, in-line vertical pull; angled or multi-leg lifting sharply reduces the safe working load and must be de-rated per the load-angle table, or a rated swivel hoist ring used instead. Inspect the ring and thread for wear, cracks or deformation before every lift and never exceed the marked working load.

Material & Certification

Drop-forged from C15E-type steel to DIN 582 and stress-relieved so the ring holds its rated load, with every batch traceable to raw material certificates. Ring and thread are gauge-checked and each lot passes dimensional inspection before packaging; EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a lifting eye nut and an eye bolt?
An eye bolt (DIN 580) has a male thread — a threaded shank you screw into a tapped hole. An eye nut (DIN 582) has a female thread — it screws onto an existing stud, threaded rod or bolt. Both give a forged, rated ring for hooks and slings; you choose the eye nut when the equipment already provides a projecting thread rather than a tapped hole.
Which strength grade should I choose?
Lifting eye nuts are drop-forged from C15E-type steel (bright or zinc-plated) or from A2 / A4 stainless for corrosive service. The forged grade and full thread engagement carry the load, so use only rated, undamaged eye nuts on a sound stud and confirm the size and marked working load your lift requires before ordering.
Do you provide mill/material certificates?
Yes. EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are available on request, along with dimensional inspection reports, for projects requiring documented traceability.
Can you produce non-standard lengths or custom head types?
Yes. Send us your drawing or sample and we will confirm feasibility, material and dimensions before quoting — custom OEM/ODM production is available alongside our standard DIN 582 range.
